All the Light We Cannot See

All the Light We Cannot SeeAll the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Doerr gives his readers a good sense of place and time in this story of WWII, set in France and Germany, moving between two young main characters, blind Marie-Laure and orphan Werner.

Blessedly short chapters slowly weave their stories toward a meeting with a sinister German official and help readers get through the realities and atrocities of life in Europe in the first half of the 1940s.
